Bisset Adams was lead consultant and designer for a £4 million re-plan of the Royal College of Nursing’s listed HQ in Cavendish Square. The overall brief included re-planning the workplace to reduce from five floors to four, yet crucially without a reduction in staffing levels, and also modernising the College’s library to act as a centre of learning and public access to the RCN.
The workplace brief required achieving better ways of working; creating a more flexible working environment, addressing low desk occupancy rates and making better use of space, offering a more flexible suite of meeting spaces to accommodate large meetings and quick, impromptu conversations. Bisset Adams were subsequently appointed on a framework agreement to work on multiple projects, including the recently completed Tymaeth, Cardiff site.
